Treatments and hair transplant at the Milan clinic

Hair transplant with the Insparya Method® and BotHair UltraPlus®

Hair transplant without shaving
The donor area is usually shaved: extraction is easier and more follicular units can be recovered. If you prefer a less visible procedure, you can ask about a partial transplant, in which only a small area is trimmed and stays hidden under the rest of your hair. Whether it is feasible in your case is something the doctor will tell you.

Are trichology treatments effective?
They can give good results when they start from a diagnosis: the doctor identifies the type of hair loss and chooses the right treatment, on its own or combined with others. Results are not the same for everyone and usually appear between 3 and 6 months, depending on the treatment and how consistently it is followed.
How many years does a hair transplant last?
Transplanted hair generally stays for many years: the follicles come from an area that is genetically less sensitive to hair loss and keep this resistance in their new location. Untreated native hair, on the other hand, can keep thinning, which is why the doctor assesses whether to propose maintenance treatments.
Growth is visible after 3-4 months; the full result takes 12-18 months.
What are the disadvantages of a hair transplant?
Swelling, redness and small scabs are normal in the first few days, and the result takes patience, as it matures over 12-18 months. Untreated native hair may keep thinning, and not everyone is a candidate for the procedure: the doctor determines this at the first visit.

During the consultation the doctor examines the donor area, including the quality and density of your hair, classifies the type and degree of alopecia, checks your clinical condition and clarifies with you what result is realistic to expect. Sometimes the conclusion is that a transplant is not needed yet, or that another route is better.
