How much does a 3,000-follicle hair transplant cover?
Three thousand follicular units can cover a specific area, such as the temples or the crown, or be spread more lightly over a larger area. There is no single figure that works for everyone: it depends on the density you are aiming for, and the doctor calculates it during your diagnosis based on your donor area and your hair loss pattern.
How many years does a hair transplant last?
In most cases, many years, because transplanted follicles come from an area of the scalp that is less sensitive to hair loss. Native hair that has not been treated can keep falling out. The doctor will explain this and tell you which complementary treatments can help slow it down.
Hair transplant without shaving
In most cases we recommend shaving the donor area because it makes extraction easier and allows more units to be collected. There is also partial shaving, where only a small strip is cut and the surrounding hair covers it. If you are worried about how you will look during the first few weeks, tell the doctor and decide together which option fits. The doctor can explain the differences at your consultation.
